Client's Situation
Improve service to 1.5 million people, through 18 private operating companies, 53 municipalities, 5 public operating organizations and 15 non-profit agencies without increased government funding
Our Objective
Identify where to invest scarce resources to transform current operations and meet growing transit needs and expectations better leveraging corporate assets and facilities.
What we did
- Conducted significant stakeholder analysis and established multi-tiered collaborations among all parties involved in delivering transit service, managing operations, optimizing physical assets and governance over performance and change.
- Provided the methods and led a series of collaborative workshops involving over a hundred province-wide delegates to design the processes and capabilities required to significantly change the ways of working for transit.
Results
- An aligned business capability transformation program has led to new funding approaches and priorities for a significantly lower investment than was foreseen. The initiatives defined in this program are now underway according to a five year roadmap.
- Instead of spending $50 million on the wrong kinds of technology, which was originally anticipated, the client is now investing $25 million to acquire value-creating infrastructure and optimize the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of their business processes.
